Our eye examinations are thorough and accurate, so you can be confident you’re receiving a detailed health check. Using our range of state-of-the-art equipment, we’ll check your vision and eye health, and make sure you’re seeing your best.

We take extra time throughout our appointments so that we can carefully monitor your eye health, fully explain your test results and answer any questions you may have.

YOUR EYE TEST AT BIRD & FAIRLEY

Throughout your eye test, we will conduct a number of tests using different equipment. This equipment will allow us to look at different parts of your eye and build a picture of your overall eye health.

We continue to invest in our technology so that we can offer the best possible care for our patients. To this end, we are proud to offer OCT technology and we have recently introduced a new Phoropter and visual fields VR headset.

Should we find that you require a new prescription, we can then offer expert advice on the best eyewear or contact lenses for you and your individual needs.

OCT TECHNOLOGY

The optical coherence tomography (OCT) technology is a non-invasive scan which allows us to see into the back of the eye.

Nothing touches your eye during the scan as it uses low-intensity sound waves to create images of the retina.

These images allow our Optometrist to detect retinal diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, optic nerve damage, and more. They are also great to keep on your patient file so that we can compare images from your previous visits.
