CHILDREN'S EYECARE
HEALTHY VISION FOR YOUR CHILD
Your child's eyes are precious and it is important to make sure they are cared for as they develop and begin to learn and study.
Your child may not be able to articulate if they have a problem with their eyes so regular eye exams are essential for vision development and children's overall wellbeing. It also gives an opportunity for any concerns to be addressed as soon as possible which could potentially prevent further issues later in life.
KIDS EYE TESTS AT BIRD & FAIRLEY
We recognise that a trip to the opticians can be overwhelming for a child so our friendly team will do everything they can to make sure the experience is as engaging and child-friendly as possible.
Our children's eye tests will be customised to your child and their age, for example, if they cannot yet read or recognise letters on a chart, we can use images instead. You'll also be able to accompany your child during the appointment so they are comfortable and calm.
The test itself will be similar to our adult tests in that we will use different techniques and equipment to thoroughly check your child's eye health and development.
Please also feel free to ask any questions or raise any concerns during the eye test. We are here to help!

SLOWING DOWN NEARSIGHTEDNESS WITH RODENSTOCK MYCON LENSES
Whether tablets, computers or homework, today’s children focus more on what’s directly in front of them rather than spending time outdoors.
The consequence: more and more children become nearsighted.
Now, there is a new solution to slow the progression of nearsightedness, also called myopia: Rodenstock MyCon lenses are built to correct myopia and ensure sharp vision while controlling myopia progression in children.
Is your child nearsighted?
Bird & Fairley Opticians offer a myopia control plan for £145 upfront with £30 direct debit per month. Terms and conditions apply*.
Make an appointment now; we will be happy to advise you.
